Can anyone tell me how many grammes there are to a Troy ounce?
Opinion in the office varies from 31.12, 31.52 or 32.15. No reference book
handy here, and seeing as were working on ore reserve calculations its kind of
important that we get it right!

1 troy oz = 31.1034768 g
Troy measurements: 1 pound = 12 ounces, 1 ounce = 20 pennyweights, 1
pennyweight = 24 grains.
There are 7000 grains in an avoirdupois pound, 5760 grains in a troy pound
(same "grain" in both systems, so you can use that as the basis for
comparison).

I have a reference giving a Troy pound as 373.25 grams; dividing by 12, this
more or less confirms Gary's figure for the Troy ounce.

One troy ounce = 31.1035 grams. To convert from grams to troy ounces, multiply
by 0.03215; to convert from troy ounces to grams, multiply by 31.1035. To
convert from grams per metric ton to ounces per ton, multiply by 0.0292.
