#abnormal termination
6 messages in this thread
All of a sudden 3DSR4 is crashing when we try to load a .3DS file. Project
files are loading fine. The error message is "abnormal program termination."
This is on a machine that's run versions 1 thru 3 as well as 4. Anyone else
seeing this?

Sounds like a hard disk problem. If it's limited to .3ds files, it might be
limited to your /meshes subdirectory. Have you tried loading and saving files
to a different directory?

Yes we have. We even cross-loaded the software onto a different
machine to try it and the same thing is happening. It seems to be
getting progressively worse. I can run checkdisk on the offending
drives and see what happens. Please note that Stacker is running on
the first machine and 3DS is on the Stacked drive. However, Stacker
is not running on the second machine.
All I can say is that you're looking at some sort of hardware problem,
or corrupted file problem. It's not a core 3DS problem. Perhaps
your dealer can help you try to figure out what's going on.
If you could come up with an array of test results re loading/saving
on various machines that point to a pattern, that would be the only
way we could help you from here.
Please read my message about Abnormal termination under <<BCD crash 3ds4>>.
Any help greatly appreciated to make our deadlines!

I'll take a look at it, but I don't have any experience with the BCD
controller.
