#Screen Size/viper

I have had Animator Pro 1.3a for a couple months but this is the first time I have used it. I would like to change my screen resolution from the default of 320 x 200 to 640 x 480. How can I do this? I have a Diamond Viper VLB (P9000) with 2mgs of Vram. Thanks, Chris

Hi, Chris. Check out the Extra pulldown menu — there is a screen size option that will allow you to do that (see 3-70 in the manual). Regards, Connie

Chris Make sure you have VPRMODE VESA in your autoexec.bat or anipro.bat file. This loads the vesa driver for the Viper, then follow Connie Roth's advice. TedB !^NavFont01F0007MGHHG86A40A

I just tried typing SET VPRMODE=C:\VIPER VESA at the c: prompt. Is this the command I was supposed to use? I thought I would just try it at the C: prompt before I edited my Autoexec.bat. I then started anipro and tried to use the extra\screen size pull down. I still didn't have any other screen resolutions available except 320 x200. What am I doing wrong? Chris

Chris All you should need is VPRMODE VESA, it runs the TSR which gives you the extra resoluton. Let me know if it works. TedB !^NavFont01F0007MGHHG668705

This also solved a problem that I have had with the 3DS World Creation Toolkit. I had never been able to get VGASHOW to work. All it would do would just flash the screen on and off. It works with the Vesa driver loaded! :-). Talk to you soon.

I have Windows on my machine and I would rather just have one autoexec.bat file that runs whether I will be using Windows or Dos programs. Do you know if the above command will affect Windows? Thanks for your help. I was able to change Ani Pro's screen size by just loading the vesa driver at the dos prompt before starting Ani Pro. But, I want to put it in a batch file in the future. Chris

Your "C:\VIPER\VPRMODE VESA" command is probably not going to affect Windows except for a little memory used up by the TSR. However, I would place this command in your animator batch file. You may need to experiment if you're in Windows and launch Animator from there.
