I'd like to help, but I'm not sure of your question. For instance, are you asking if AVI stands for something (Audio Visual Interleave) or are you asking code info? (There is FLIC.ZIP, for instance, describing the Flic format.) This includes Listing One and Listing Two referred to in the article. Flic files are a sequence of still frames which can be flipped through to achieve the illusion of movement. The extensions .FLI and .FLC are not acronyms. The .FLI extension was developed with the original Autodesk Animator, and is simply short for "flic" (which is another way of saying "flick" or "movie"). When Animator Pro was developed, and the flic format was changed to become resolution-independant, the extension for the new format was also changed to .FLC so you could distinguish one format from the other. (.FLC also stands for "flic.") I have no idea what AVI stands for. – Jack

Ah, "Audio Video Interleaved." Typical techno-babble acronym. <g> By the way, I'm a member in good standing with the S.O.A. society: Stamp Out Acronyms. – J

Jack: < I'm a member in good standing with the S.O.A. society… > We'd be glad to make you an honorary member of the S.O.B. Network, too! – Kevin OH! I'm sorry. That's Southern Ol' Boys Network. That's the trouble with acronymns. <g>

/* I' looking for the exact meaning of F.L.I. or F.L.C. A.V.I …. ? Does anyone knows it ? Of course, I know what it is but not the meaning. */ To my knowledge: AVI = audio visual interleave FLI = "FLIc" (no anacronym) FLC = "FLiC" (no anacronym) Of course you realize this could really be confusing when you think of PIC = "PICture" 🙂 -dave
