Don, I took the information you gave about the A500 and the 2.04 rom upgrade, and took a look at the machine. The board is a revision 5, and there is no jumper. Do I need to add the jumper? If not, do you have any other suggestions. Thanks. >>Steve.

Steve, yes…there MUST be a jumper between pin 1 and pin 31 on the ROM for it to work in a rev 5 machine. Don

Steve, BTW…the way CBM made the jumper….they ran a small wire across the top of the ROM and soldered the ends to the very top of the chip's legs. Don

Hmmmm. There was NO jumper on the chip I received from Expert Services. Since I thought I needed one (the docs were confusing), I dug out some magnet wire and lashed the two pins together, across the top, using a wire-wrap style of connection. It didn't work that way, so I took the jumper off, reinstalled, and everything was GO. Digging out magnet wire and counting pins is a tedious business. Wish they had supplied the jumper. Then again, wish the docs had been more understandable on the question. Ho hum. So it goes. –Jim

Don, Thanks again. I'm not sure if it's good news or bad, that I thought of the same solution as CBM :). >>Steve.
