HELP! I finally got my Emplant running and need to xfer files between the mac
partition and the amiga side. For that matter I understand there is some way to
switch between both OS's like there is for the Goldengate or Bridgeboard.
Anyhow I've got these PICT anims that are too big for floppies and I need to
get them over the the Amiga and out to my Primera color printer to examine some
frames. My Emplnat came with miniscule docs so I'm lost! For the record my
Emplant code is pretty up-to-date and I have System 7 under my souped up 4000
as a platform. Any help or reference to online docs someplace would be
great…Thanks in advance!

I'll try to help you out. After booting your Mac on Emplant, when you have
your Mac desktop with all programs closed and just your desktop icons
showing, hit Left Amiga-M…this should take you to your file transfer
screen. Set first switch to "Mac to Amiga", second to either "file",
"directory" or "selective" according to how many files you want to
transfer at a time, and "intelligent". Press "start". You will be returned
to your Mac desktop. Open to the pict file(s) you want to transfer. You
will then get a screen allowing you to select the Amiga side location for
the file(s). Hit "load". Your file(s) should then be transferred to the
Amiga side.
Once your pict file(s) is(are) on the Amiga side, you'll need to "demac"
them to remove the Mac binary (?first 128 bytes, I think) to be able to
utilize them. This of course has to be done on the Amiga side and with the
shell. There is a program called "Demac" and I think it's in one of our
forums. The doc file explains its use . You'll have to download it.

You can strip the MACBinary header information WHILE you transfer your PICT
files by setting the File Transfer Type to DATA FORK. I wrote this into the
file transfer code for my friends in Hollywood that move thousands of frames
back and forth between platforms. 🙂
