#Muchmore
4 messages in this thread
I'm having a problem reading text files (i.e., readme files). When I boot my
a1200 from my recently installed hard disk I get 'unable to open your tool
'c:/muchmore''. That, or I gat a screen full of dots. I don't have this
problem when I boot from my workbench 3.0 floppy. What's the hard disk
missing?
Thanks,
Adam
Adam,
Where is muchmore ? You said 'unable to open your tool 'c:/muchmore'
If muchmore is in c: then the default tool needs to be 'c:muchmore' or
simply 'muchmore'.The slash after c: is causing the program to look in the
parent directory of c: Hope this helps.
I don't know anything about dots, have you had an eye exam lately ? 🙂

Adam,
Muchmore is a PD textviewer available here and just about everywhere else.
It's very popular and a lot of textfiles use it as their default tool.
You can either change the default tool to whatever you like to use to view
text or just download muchmore and put it in your C: directory.

Adam, are you saying every time you boot now you get the muchmore message,
or anytime you try to read by clicking a particular icon? If it's the
former, check for something in your SYS:WBStartup drawer. If it's the
latter, you can edit the icon's default tool to read sys:utilities/more,
which is the standard text viewer – not as fancy as muchmore, but will
work. The other way would be to find a copy of muchmore somewhere and
place it in the sys:c drawer.
