i wanted to know why on earth ppl are sticking with a computer that has
absolutly no future what so ever no matrter what are it's capabilit ys, i don't
that mac owners have that problem. would u like to know what those ppl with
lots of knoladge about platfroms told me? btw a freind of mind who owned an
amiga and also bragging about it just bought an a1200 a few weeks after he got
he sold it and now is planning to buy a pc. need i say more?

i dare u to try and type with delays and lgs of 3-4 secs. imagine ths: i type a
sentance then wait for it to appear on he screen, and spot a typ'o in the
middle i back up with back slash a few times but i got back too far and ow have
to rewrite the whole thing all oever in the mean while the meter is ticking and
ticking away.
It must be something to do with the hardware you are using! Try getting
something that works and people might take you more seriously – then again
that could expose your appalling grammar for what it really is.

I don't know where Elhanan is from (just like I don't know where you
are from)…but you both show overseas PPN's here. It's quite possible
(again…I don't know) that his native language is not English.

Get Autopilot in the Amiga Tech Forum….you can read and compose
messages off line…while the meter is OFF <grin>.

He doesn't have an Amiga. From the last run in I had with him he said
he doesn't want/can't spend the money on a navigation/front end program of
any kind. He drove me nuts trying to read the chicken scratch that he
wrote to me!! He also mentioned something about the network he calls in
on and line clarity. Hey, for the rest of you guys out there paying
attention to this person, he really is just a curious kid of 17 or 18
trying to annoy people here and if he isn't he has alot of growing up to
do. I've never dealt with more ignorance/stupidity in all my life but
that is what makes the world go round 🙂 .

I don't think so, from the kind of exchange that we had. It was
really ridiculous and I don' think that any of us learned much of

I've got a feeling this is the same guy who has been surfing the Net
recently trying to provoke flames from Amiga users. There were quite a few
very stupid and obcene postings by a guy, who called himself the Phantom,
on the demon.ip.support.amiga newsgroup. He even managed to forge the
headers in hispostings, but was always spotted by his grammar and spelling
mistakes.Some guys got so fed up with him, that they did a few core dumps
on him, which prompted his British Internet provider to close his
account:). Seeing that his Ci$ ID is probably European, this could well be
the same nutter. Fortunately for us, AP has this nice "kill…" feature.

PMBI, But, I can't speak for anyone else here in this forum but I can
speak for myself. The reason I 'stick' with my computer of choice is just
that, A CHOICE. Without choices, be they bad or otherwise, this world
would be a very boring place. Imagine if you had only one color to choose
from, one make of car, one flavor toothpaste to put on one size
toothbrush. Personally I like choices in everything.
You say the Amiga has no future? Well I beg to differ. I'm not as
selfish as some are, I believe there is enough room in this world of
Billions & Billions of people for more than one platform of computer.(see
above par.) I see the light at the end of the tunnel but I won't stand in
the middle of the tracks so the train can run me over, nooooo. If it is
an oncoming train and not the light at the end of the tunnel I'll just
step to the side, let the train pass by, and then get back on the track
and carry on my merry way. Which brings me to my last reason. . .
I'M HAPPY WITH MY AMIGA!!!!
I work on MS-DOS/Windows, OS/2, and IBM AS/400 Midrange computers at
work all day long, so I know there are things I can do on those systems
that I can't do (right now) on my Amiga. But, there are things that I can
do on my Amiga that they can't do 'as well/at all' (yet), and as long as
those needs are there I will keep my Amiga. I have too much time and hard
earned money invested in my Amiga to go jumping ship because we have a new
captain. I don't care who steers the boat as long as they get me from A
to B safely (with a few drinks to help me enjoy the ride).
I guess I can sum up this whole message in one sentence. . .
Why do I stick with my Amiga. . . . Because I want to!
Now, I have a question for you. Why are you condemning me for wanting
to fight for something that works for me? If my choice in computer hurts
you in anyway please, let me know.

i must say that i have never saw so many metaphores in one msg, but i don't
remeber saying anything about condemning u for anything just wanted to know
why. true u can choose with a reason to choose when it concers to icecream and
the sorts, but when it comes to something u have for a couple of years where u
use it daily and work with it everytime i should say to would haveto have more
then the reason to choo se.

Really? The Amiga has no future? How do you know this? What makes
you say this? Are you saying I should take the computer I've been using
for years and trash it? It seems to work perfectly fine to me.

So what? I don't know your friend or why he bought his Amiga 1200
initially. I don't know what he wanted to use it for. I'm not going to
speculate as to why a stranger sold his Amiga for a "pc."

Sorry but your friend is wrong. The Amiga does have a future. Then
again if he is interested in playing games an IBM clone is the right
choice. The clones make a nice game machine assuming you have enough add
ons.
