I have not been able to get ProDraw 3.0 to work properly on my recently purchased A4000. Is there something I am missing. Installation was done as specified. When I run the program, often the menu will disappear and not be accessible (i.e., nothing to pull down). Other times it gives me a 'recoverable error Guru' but after clicking the mouse it comes back to this message and the cycle continues; I have to reboot to get out. If anyone has a suggestion please send me a message. Thanks, Chris

Chris: I've used ProPage for many years. I have 4.1 right now, and I still get the random 'recoverable Guru' on my 4000! Unfortunately, since Gold Disk no longer supports their Amiga product line, your best bet is probably to buy PageStream. I've never used it, but it seems to get fairly good reviews. Hi Eric, ACtually, it's ProDraw that is giving me the trouble. I currently have v3.01, and am wondering if it may be this version on the A4000 that's a problem. I've seen 3.03 advertised in the AmigaWorld classifieds; do you know if that was the latest version and if so, how best to get the upgrade or patch. ALternatively, what other equivalent object oriented Draw programs could I consider? Thanks, Chris

Ooops, sorry about that! I've got ProDraw 3.02, and it's fairly robust. Though I must admit that I only rarely use it. (I just fired it up and quit, w/ no problems….. :^) You might want to consider contacting Gold Disk Even though they no longer develop for the Amiga, they were relatively helpful when I needed to upgrade a copy of Gold Disk Office I picked up. Good Luck, Erik Flom – ELF Works 3D Construction Co.

THanks Eric, I'll give Gold Disk a call to see what they suggest. Cheers, Chris

Sorry, but I don't have anything more recent than the one in the 4.0 manual. If you can't find your manual, I'll post the info here. Erik Flom – ELF Works 3D Construction Co.

Yes, please! If You have a phone no. for a GoldDisk FAX or Support-BBS, please post me the infos. I only have a german supplement manual for PPage V4.0 with no phone numbers listed. The german support for GD products does not exist an longer. 🙁 Welf-Holger Prietzsch Amperweg 1, D-82140 Olching, FAX: +49 8142 20588, Germany

Well, it turned out to be easier said than done. Once I finally dug out the manuals, all they had was the address: Gold Disk, Inc. P.O. Box 789, Streetsville Mississauga, Ontario Canada L5M 2C2 However,…the quick reference card lists 1 phone number: 416-602-4357 Finally, an ad in a recent MacWorld gives only a 1-800 number: 1-800-982-9888 Hope this helps! Good Luck. Erik Flom – ELF Works 3D Construction Co.

Yes I know! I've tried already to reach them at WINAPC but I did not get any answer yet. Welf-Holger Prietzsch Amperweg 1, D-82140 Olching, FAX: +49 8142 20588, Germany

Hmmm … that sounds like about the level of support they gave Amiga users in the past.
