We are converting all the Anim 5s to Anim 7s adding some frames in a few spots
to compensate for the variable timing info lost in conversion from 5 to 7.
Close to being done. What media are you equipped to handle for the animation
files? VHS tape? The close to 30 files will total about 75 MB. Thanks again.
Please do not convert to anim 7. I need it in anim 5 format so ADPro can
convert the files to 24 bit to the PAR card. I can record to VHS, SVHS,
and 3/4" U-Matic. Just send the format tape you want me to record to with
the disks. Remember that this will run at 30 fps so plan your frames
accordingly.

Jim – Some questions from my son:
Dear Jim,
I have two questions concerning your transfer of the Anim-5 files using
ADPro to the PAR. I produce my Anim-5 files having variable frame timing, e.g.
( frame 1= 1.5 secs, frame 2=.8 secs, frame 3=1.2 secs, etc.) . These Anim-5
files play back correctly on several different players, including AmigaVision.
Will ADPro retain this information or must I add additional frames to
compensate for the timing?
My other question is when you say the animation will play back at 30fps do you
mean the speed of the VCR or is that the only speed the PAR will output to
video?
The animation is currently set at a rate of 24fps. Does this mean that the
animation will appear sped up when played back from PAR to video? I have
output files saved in DPaint IV at 24fps to VHS videotape and there is no
discernable flicker or loss of frames.

The PAR can output at 30 fps or 15 fps or less. If I set it to PAL, it
will do 24 fps, however we need to output to NTSC so I can not set it to
24 fps. Since it will output at 30 fps you will need to adjust the
animation (ie: if you want frame 1 to show the same picture for 1.5
seconds you need to have that same picture spread out over 45 frames),
this should not increase the file size much since there aren't any changes
in the pictures.
