Robert, are you sure there's enough room on the disk in df1? There's no logical
reason why ARC would work on one disk and not the other unless there isn't
enough room or there's something wrong with the disk.

Have you tried deARCing in RAM?
I have not attempted to deARc in ram: I realize it should be possible to
download in both dives. I may have a bad connection,possibly a poor ground?

I have had no real problems with arc in any possible configuration.
(Some are described in msg. # 42198 or 42199 i think).
Anyway, unless you have a bad version of arc, I can't see why you can't
put or get files from anywhere.
