Don, I downloaded this printer driver for the StartMicronics SG10 printer i have OnLine! and used Xmodem. I do have Gamma1 KS/WB,but i dont seem to get it to work. to copy this driver to my preferences i did : COPY Df1:SG10.DRI to df0:Devs/Printers/Custom then i selected the Custom printer, save to disk, reboot and it did not work! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG. or do this driver works if not do DL's have one that works. Also i am using textcraft 1.1 (it does work with 1.2) Ed

Ed, Re-name the printer drive to something other than Custom. Call it SG_10 or whatever (don't put an extension or any spaces in the name). After doing that, now go into preferences and see if it shows up in the list (later versions of 1.2, the added driver will show up in the list of available drivers). if it does, select it, save the set-up, re-boot and try it. If it doesn't work, or if it doesn't show up in the list of drivers, then select Custom for the driver and in the box right under the list of printers type the EXACT name of the driver (NOT custom) so in this case, you would type SG_10. Now exit and save preferences, re-boot and it should now work if the driver is a usable one. The reason it didn't work named Custom is that isn't a driver name, but rather tells the system to look for the other text string (which is blank) for the name of the driver. Just a reminder…but BEFORE re-booting MAKE SURE THE DRIVE HAS STOPPED! that the red light is off and stays off for a few seconds. This is one of those times when it is so easy to destroy a disk by clicking on the save icon, getting back to the CLI prompt or WB and hitting re-set too soon! Just make sure the drive light is out, and stays out for 2 or 3 seconds and you'll be ok. Don
