I think you're right Don. It's also terribly slow at downloading. I'm sure their next release will be better. Thanks, George

George, Yes, I'm very sure their next release will have lots of improvements over the present release. I've been in contact with them quite a bit and have received their assurance that they will do all they can to incorporate user suggestions into the next release. If you have the time, you might drop them a letter with your concerns about OnLine!….I do know that they take letters from users seriously. Their later releases have a better ARCHIVE facility and I presume they will incorporate it into the next version of OnLine! Don

I spoke with the author of Online! at the World of Commodore show, and he assured me that MSS will be releasing an update to it early in the new year. Here's hoping! Regards, Larry.

Larry, Yes, I've had fairly constant contact with MSS for un-related stuff and get the same assurances. They seem a very "up-front" company and I have no reason to doubt what they say…in fact, my experience is that if they say they will do something, they do it. Don

Don, I can only partly agree with that, and have to retain a "wait and see" attitude with MSS, since they promised upgrades very early on in Online!'s life. As I told the fellow at the show, I will certainly be reporting on it when it does arrive, and will certainly give it a good shakedown and a fair report. I have a LOT of people asking about Online! all the time, and I would lovce nothing better than to be able to recommend it. Regards, Larry.

Larry, The first release was upgradded several times, from 1.0 to 1.2 to 1.26 to 1.27, and I have assurances from them (which I believe to be reliable) that they are working on ver 2.0 and will have it out sometime in the relatively near future (no date yet). Don

Yes, 1.27 was the last update, which did fix a few problems, but still left many intact. The author has told me that it will be out in January. Regards, Larry.

Larry, I just talked to them yesterday. They say late January or early February…and that's official. It will include Kermit (possibly sliding windows) and YMODEM and anything else reasonable in the way of protocols. The VT100 emulation is reportedly complete now and the screen I/O has been much improved. Don

Right Don, He also assured me that it will handle XMODEM transfers properly. Good for them if it turns out to be that much improvement. Regards, Larry.
