3DPICS.ARC problem?
8 messages in this thread
Has anyone successfully viewed the two pics that are contained in 3DPICS.ARC
in DL6? I can de-arc them with no problem, but viewing one (with dpslide)
gives B&W snow, and the other locks up the machine. I have downloaded it
twice, and ran them on two different machines. I notice they've been
downloaded 43 times, so talk to me. Thanx! —Mike
Mike,
I downloaded them and loaded them into lo-res DPaint, they showed as
black and white since I don't have the required 3D glasses, but they are ok.

The problem is not the pictures, but DPSLIDE, which can only handle one type of
IFF file. (It was written LONG ago when IFF was pretty new). Try one of the
newer display programs, like SHOWPIC, in the DL's here.

Supposedly dpslide takes all three resolutions, but yes, I was able to view
them with dpaint. However, they don't look three-d even with glasses, because
they are in black & white.
I thought dpslide was more current, but that shows what I know! Thanx!

Since you have dpaint, you can "normalize" a picture to work with dpslide by
loading the file in question and then saving it with dpaint. It has worked for
me in the case of DOZER.PIC, which dpslide would not show. As for the 3D pics,
I'm not sure why they are in B&W…

Good idea, thanx! —Mike
Mike,
Still can't view those 3D pics yet, eh? Well, I am gonna download them
myself (I uploaded them) and test them out. I have been using the 'SEE'
utility that came with GRABBIT, to view them, and haven't tried anything else.
When properly displayed, they come up in B&W, with red and blue outlines around
everything. I'll download them and give them a try with SHOWPIC and whatever
other utilities I have around here.
I'll let you know,
Nick
I was able to view them with DPaint, but they were in B&W with no color at
all. —Mike
