Has anyone had a problem sending messages to this system using Online? A while back, I attempted to leave a message on the photography forum, but was told by the sysop that the message was truncated: only a line or so would get through. Any help would be appreciated. Tom Shick, 70315,1135

Tom, You have to add a Carriage Return to lines sent so that CIS doesn't truncate lines. The CIS editor can't handle lines longer than 132 characters and doesn't recognize a LF as an end of line marker. Don

Are you typing your messages on-line or off-line? I've done both many times and have never had problems (other than once or twice I've forgot to delete accidentally created empty lines from the end of my files when using ED). As #96796 says, make sure you use your return key. For the record if that doesn't solve it, I'm running VT-100 emulation, with CR+LF off – I highly doubt that either matters, but try those just in case.

Thomas, I use Online! exclusively for dealing with the message base. As you can see from this message, I have no problems with it.
