animation

Hello Greg!
I am in need of a program that will create the difference files from IFF
picture files to be played back with the playanim program that comes with
Videoscape 3d. I have heard names like RIF and SQUASH. Do you know any thing
like this and where I might get it real soon? Thanks for any help.

Hi Dave,
Sorry, but I know of no utility available _yet_ that will let you
create (show)ANIM files. There is a utility in DL16 called MOVIE1.ARC. It is
supplied from Byte by Byte. It will do what you want, but the resulting file
is not in Aegis ANIM format. You would have to use MOVIE to show them. So,
unless you need ANIM format, you can use MOVIE which is available now.
From your message, I take it you want to be able to use any IFF file(s).
Keep in mind that all the files you use MUST have the same palette for the
delta calculation to work correctly. This is true when using Movie, or any
such compression utility.

Thanks for the info. Although I'd rather not use MOVIE, I can, and now I know
there's a job to be done. May as well incorporate motion blurring, what the
heck. I'll upload it when I get it done. Dave Arendash
Will be looking forward to it! -GreG
Aegis VideoTitler will also create ANIM's in any resolution with any pallette.
It should be in the stores within a week or so…
