recoverable error?

I just started using my 2000 and copying files from df2: to ram:. ie, conman,
arc, etc and I kept getting a recoverable guru 00038036.265F48F1.
Does anyone have any ide of what is going on?

Jerry, are you calling ARP utilities possibly from the current directory which
is searched before the c: directory and don't have the ARP library installed in
l: ?

Sounds like the no Arp.library alert – we're going to be changin
that to a warning message for some of the commonly used ARP
programs so it will make more sense. You need to have a copy
of arp.library in your LIBS: drawer. Sorry for the inconvenience…
it'll go away as soon as we can convince Commodore to burn
the library into ROM C-:

I certainly hope you can convince them to burn ARP into silicon. Along with
that, i have hopes for ARexx to be in there right alongside ARP.

What is the arp library and how do I get it into the libs: directory
(where is it now?).

The V1.03 ARP ARC file is in DL9 here, which includes arp.library
plus about 29 of the executables like ASSIGN, CD, PROMPT etc.
Search for ARP* –

Ah, I overheard the thread about this. Everyone seems to LOVE it! Does
it make the commands work faster or is it just a change of format? Also, how
does it affect the 2000?

The ARP stuff will work on all three machines. They're all smaller
than the equivalent BCPL originals (most less than half the size),
so they will run faster … also most of the commands have
extensions such as accepting wildcards in Rename, Protect,
Type, and Join; adding a SORT option to the new LIST (still in
beta), as well as allowing you to do "LIST *.o" , etc. We
have tried to make everything more consistent and more
powerful, and easier to use (once you get over the hurdle of
getting the library copied onto your boot disk).
