#Access! ??
7 messages in this thread
I keep reading the bulletin about the new version of Access! with Kermit and
Compuserve B, but I still don't see it? Can you tell me where it is? The latest
version I have is 27, and I don't see any of the features mentioned in the
bulletin. Bob
Robert, please re-read the bulletin. It says that CIS's ACCESS software is new
and now supports Kermit and Quick B. This is the software on CIS's end that
lets you Upload and Download.

Boy Greg, talk about reading into something that you want to read! How stupid
of me! Thanks. Now all you have to do is talk the CIS people into publishing a
terminal program similar to the ones available for the IBM, 8-bit Atari, and
others. I am having trouble using Kermit on OnLine! When CIS prompts me for a
file name for my machineand I type it in, OnLine! doesn't go into the transfer
mode automatically. Do I have to type in VD0:(wildcard) or what? The docs from
Micro Systems don't go into the kermit protocol at all? Thanks, Bob.
Robert, don't think you are the only one who misread the Bulletin. First week
it was up about 10 people asked me Where is the new Access?". Anyways, I am
not familiar with Online so can't help you with the Kermit problems you are
having. I am sure someone will jump in if they have the answer.

Your other reply is correct, we're talking about two different things. Be sure
to note the difference between Access!, which is the terminal program, and
ACCESS, which is the software which allows you to access the DLs (in the same
way that CBX controls the CO area and SIG controls the message base).
Sorry for the confusion!
Rick
Rick. Stupid of me! Thanks, Bob.
Not at all. Lots of people have made the same error. I'm off to change the
bulletin NOW to make it clearer.
