Read about monopoly game in an old issue of Online. According to the article in "uploads" it's supposed to reside in DL 5. Can't seem to find it. Does it exist??

Sanford, Parker Brothers (owner of the Monopoly Copyright) has requested that the file be removed due to copyright violations. It seems that you can't use the word 'Monopoly' in a game or the board play design or the game design without their permission and no one had gotten their permission. As a result, the game is no longer available. Don

It probably refers to the old abasic monopoly game. Since few of us can still run abasic (especially on the 500 and 2000), the program has probably been made to disappear. We had talks of rewriting it many months ago, but I doubt anything came of it. Ron

Ron, ABasiC works perfectly with the A2000. ABasiC may have some problems, but incompatability with the OS changes has NOT been one of them. It's one of the few programs that was properly written and thus has been able to survive from 1.0 thru 1.2. Don

Woops. I haven't tried to use it in a long time after hearing that it didn't work under 1.2. When I finally get my hd I'll hunt it up and play with it again. Thanks, Ron

Parker Bros. has sent letters to all of the commercial services and probably about 10% of the BBSes threatening to sue anyone who has any version of Monopoly or Risk for any computer system available for download. MONOPO.ARC has been removed from the DLs.

Eek!! I must be a pirate! I *think* I got my copy off of one of the first Fish disks (if not that, then one of the other sets of PD disks – a friend has a bunch of such disks). I wouldn't lose any sleep over it though; the graphics is nice for an ABasiC program, but I'm not impressed with the game play.
