There is a bug in v 1.3 of ProPage. Any page with a fill pattern will not print. Futhermore, the error will prevent any page that follows the error to not print as well. This is a rather major bug, since it prevents a major function from working altogether and also crashes the printing of any other pages in the file. Also, any EPS output is corrupted with the error. Please fix this and send me a new upgrade. Thanks, Jim Hyatt

I have fill patterns on my documents that print just fine. If the print problem you are having is with PostScript output, I may have a solution for you. Edit the psprlg file in the PPage:Data directory. The setuserscreen module between lines 323 and 340 have several lines containing the following tags: /m /rm m rm Change those to /w, /rw, w, and rw respectively wherever they occur between lines 323-340.

Disregard my previous message, I answered your first message before reading your second. You're way ahead of me, Paul, on devising a cure. But have you heard anything about this from Gold Disk? I am somewhat surprised at their lack of quality control. A typical user shouldn't have to learn Post script programming to use the software. With my LaserWriter II NT, the first instance where it encounters the corrupt code causes the whole document to crash and not print a lick. I can see most users becoming quite irritated. You out there, Gold Disk? Need any Beta testers? Don't worry, guys, I still love your software, and nothing is ever perfect. You won my heart when you incorporated EPS compatibility. Oh, well, I hope they heard me. Thanks again Paul. Jim.

Okay, well disregard my last message Jim! I called Gold Disk twice several weeks ago. I described the problem and the fix to both Eric and Patrick in Tech Support. Patrick requested that I send him the PostScript file with the error. I did so, uploading it to PLINK at his request. Three weeks later Gold Disk still hadn't checked into PLINK. I caleed them again, and received the excuse that the guy with the password was sick. They didn't even thank me for identifying the bug!!

GD is aware of the problem. They have told me that they would upload a corrected PS prologue file here. I haven't seen it yet. Paul's fix is all that is needed and should be posted as a general message or Library file.

I don't think Gold Disk really cares about any of the owners of Pro Page. They got our $$$ and don't give us support! Someone save us!
