My dealer updated me to Janus 2.0 but forgot to give me the PC programs (AREAD, AWRITE, JLINK, JDISK.SYS…and I understand there are a few more [MAKEAB?]). I dropped off a blank 5.25" disk today… needless to say, the person in the store didn't quite understand what I was talking about, and the "software person" won't be in until after the weekend. Any chance that Commodore would give permission to post all the Janus 2.0 files (Amiga & PC) in the "Updates" lib of this forum? If not, any chance that someone will take pity on me and email me the new PC files? (I can AREAD and AWRITE by booting up with my old disk and working under Janus Classic…) How about this manual that Commodore doesn't want to give us? Any chance that someone WITH a manual could paraphrase it into some help files to post here? While I'm at it…how about a Bridgeboard library here on the forum? (I know, I know, never satisfied….) -Don

Don, No…CBM will NOT allow the Janus software to be distributed here nor will they allow anyone except an authorized dealer to make copies. Do NOT mix the old and the new files, you MUST have the new MS-DOS software to use those programs with the new Janus software. It's really best if you wait till Monday to get the software, that way you can also look over the manual to see what changes and additions there are. Don

Thanks. We're snowed in this weekend anyway; I'll be too busy building snowmen and exploring the Ice Planet of Hoth to do much work with MS-DOS. -Don
