Paul-?'s such as: How do I "print to a disk file using Post Script drivers", as a
PostScript file? Do I need the PgS font disk for "Screen Fonts for Post Script
Printers"? Someone suggested "Tell PgS to print out in PS" – how do I do that?
I'm guessing that is via using PS drivers – duhhhh….
I tried your suggestion to use Tyme or Helvetica fonts, and they look good.
Someone else suggested Columbia…maybe…Have you used that?
I assume I can't do PS on my Nec P2200 dotmatrix….Right? Are only laser
printers set up for PS? And what is Pixelscript anyway?
And will only certain laser printers do the job well?
I must tell you, being self-taught leaves one under-informed and feeling really
klutzy about talking to you experienced folk…I feel like a Special Ed student
transferred to the Gifted and Talented Program -by mistake!!!!!!!!!

OK here we go. . .
How to "print" a PS file to disk:
1. Go to the PgS "Global" menu and sellect "Configure Printer" 2. Now load the
printer driver called "PostScript" 3. From the three gagets labeled SER:, PAR:,
DISK FILE choose the disk file. 4. Now when you go to "Print" your document a
file requestor will appear and you can name and save the postscript file for
your document. WARNING postscript files can get very large. If you do not have
a hard disk you may wish to "print"/save only one page at a time.
(All PgS fonts contain both the data needed to create the page from within PgS
AND all the data needed for a postscript printer to create the page. So you
need do nothing special other than making sure you have not deleted any of the
PgS font files.)
How do you get this file printer?
Well if you have access to a postscript printer just sent the PS file to the
printer. The printer will create the page (a very large normal bitmap) in it's
own memory and print it.
Pixelscript is a terrific program by Pixelations, Inc. They are on this forum

Pixelscript takes to job of creating the page bitmap out of the printer and
does the job in your computer's memory. It creates the page bitmap so as to
take advantage of your dot matrix printer's highest resolution. With
Pixelscript and my deskjet I get results that are identical to those on a PS
laserprinter (300 dpi) at a about one forth the price. So with Pixelscript you
CAN PRINT ANY PS FILE ON YOUR NEC P2200 printer!
BTW Gifted & Talented students ARE special ed. students!
