#A3000 100Mb vs. 50Mb?

I'll be buying an A3000 and am wondering if I should go for the 50M
drive or the 100M. I know that generally, large drives are quite fast; is
this the case here? What's the average seek time for both drives?

The average seek time on both drives is 19ms. The real difference between
the 2 models is that the 50M version comes with 2M (1M chip, 1M fast) and
the 100M version comes with 5M (1M chip, 4M fast).

Unh-unh. Not so, according to a reputable C= dealer here in Toronto.
The 100 Mb A3000 doesn't have any more memory than the 50 Mb. Darn shame,
too.

I can't help what your (Canadian) dealer told you — here in the States
the 3000/25-100 comes with 5M. The dealer network was informed over a
month ago and the developers recently go their new price lists (looking at
mine now).

Commodore Canada may not be selling the 3000/100 with more memory,
but CBM (the US branch) is shipping the 3000/100 with 5 Meg of memory while
the 3000/50 only comes with 2 meg of memory.
