#A2088 w/VGA

Has anyone experienced difficulty in getting a VGA or Super VGA board to
work with their Bridgeboard? I Just installed a JAX-8204 (no-name brand).
I can only get monochrome video. I have Janus 1.0 ROM installed. Also,
can anyone tell me the best and fastest place to get Janus 2.0 upgrades (on
Long Island or by Mail order). I am more than capable of installing the
ROM(s) myself if necessary.
Steve:
Are you by any chance using a Flickerfixer along with the VGA card and
hooking both to the same monitor through a switchbox? If so, then what you
need to do is to switch the VGA to the monitor during bootup until the boot
screen comes up (the VGA card has configured itself). It seems that many
VGA cards are more intelegent than is handy for switchbox use., they try
and figure out what kind of monitor they're hooked upto (color or Mono) and
set themselves up accordingly. I'm using a generic Paradise made card, and
I have to do this or else it will boot into Mono mode, and the only way to
switch it is to reboot the BB side while the monitor is hooked to the VGA.
Try this and see if it helps.
If you're NOT using a switchbox and flickerfixer, and have the VGA hooked
directly to the monitor, Sorry for this long message, and I don't have a
clue to whats wrong!

Sorry, that's not what I have. The VGA monitor is hooked up only to h the
Bridgeboard. Thanks anyway.
Hi Steven…
Have you set your PCPrefs correctly? (In the PC drawer on the Amiga side.)
You need to turn off both color and monochrome to use an EGA or VGA board.

Just tried that before I checked my messages and it did indeed work!!
Unfortunately, that is only half my battle so far. My TVGA board works
successfully with my GoldStar 1460 Plus monitor only in the regular VGA
(640 x 480) and 800 x 600 modes. This board should also work in 1024 x 768
Interlaced mode. Any Ideas?
