#ICD and External drive

On the first part, make sure you boot off FLOPPY, not the hard drive,
before repartitioning the drive. Once you repartition, you lose your sys:
if you booted off the hard drive. Boot off the floppy supplied with the
host adapter.
On the second drive, I have no idea what you have. If the drive as 20
conductor and 34 conductor edge connectors, then you can use an Adaptec or
Omti SCSI controller to connect it to the host adapter.

This what I have: An Amiga 1000 with a box on the right side that is
connected to an external Cltd drive with 25 copper slots on the outside of
the drive box (I think its Adaptec) I would like to connected it to my
Amiga 2000 which has an ICD controller with Quantum drive mounted on it I
would like to utilies my old drive by hooking it up to ICD controller
internally if possible but the ICD controller has an external 25 pin
hook-up which I assume can be used for an external drive.

If it is an Adaptec (or an Omti) controller, it should have a 50 pin
connection. Half of the SCSI bus lines are ground; these are left off the
external connection on our host adapter. If the controller (not host,
controller) connected to your drive has a 50 pin edge connector, and it is
an Adaptec, then there should be no problem. Open the box up and check.
