My A2000 power supply died on Saturday. Fortunately my friendly Amiga
dealer had another in stock (unfortunately it cost $161). Swapping it in
was easy.
Is repairing the old one possible/worthwhile? I don't know anthing about
what's wrong with it other than the fuse isn't blown. Symptoms are it
comes to life for a fraction of a second then shuts down. Thanks. — Art
Hate to be the possible bearer of bad tidings, but there is a possibilty
that nothing was wrong with your power supply. This is the symptom of a bad
fan in the power supply. If the fan is open or shorted the power supply
will attempt to start up and then shut down.
Several people had said on CIS that they used a fan from Radio Shack. It
apparently needs a little fitting, but it supposedly works fine.
