#2320 problems?

I'm about to get a 2320 card for use with a Mitsubishi multi-scan monitor.
However, I've heard some disquieting things about this product. Does
anyone have the exact specs for cable requirements for the 2320 with the
Mitsubishi? I heard somewhere that there are some odd cable
incompatibilities with the 2320 and some monitors. Also I just read here
about some problems with certain areas of the palette that someone
reported. Any information that anyone has on these topics will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

I purchased the 2320 and a Diamondscan monitor. The monitor came with 2
cables of which one had the required connections for the 2320 without any
modifications. So for a 2320, don't let anyone try to sell you an unneeded
cable!

Fred, have you had any palete problems with yours?

I tried the color test someone else suggested and it looked ok to me, but
in DPaint with the standard pallette, two of the grays end up being the
same color. That's the only problem I've noticed and I didn't bother
investigating any further.

Makes you wonder if there are a few either defective or misadjusted ones
out there, or some sort of bug. If having a little bit of a grey problem
is all there is, its probably survivable.
I suppose that if I had a chunk of spare cash available, I'd buy a few
things for my Amiga, possibly including the 2320 and the 1950, and some
form of accellerator. I wouldn't mind owning a toaster but have no
legitimate use of it, so I have no real other usage for the video slot.

Thanks for the reply. I had heard of some problems with cables with
certain unspecified monitors. Here's hoping I don't have any of those
problems!

The A2320 has exactly the same pinouts as an IBM VGA board, and any monitor
that is billed to work with VGA (or SuperVGA) will work with the 2320!
I'm using a 2320 in my 2000 right now with a Tatung multisync monitor.

Mike,
I just caught your message and wanted to say that you and I have the exact
same setup (A2320 and a Tatung monitor). I just wondered if you had
investigated going inside the monitor to increase the horizontal to get rid
of the black border? On my Tatung, I have plenty of vertical size
adjustment to get rid of the border, but I still get 1/4" on each side.
Great monitor, isn't it? Wait'll you see their customer support. It's
superb.

Actually I've sort of gotten used to the black border! No I hadn't thought
of trying to get rid of the border, because if I were to do that I'd loose
my proportions on ProPage. Right now, in the 100% display mode of PP when
it shows an inch, it measures exactly 1 inch on the monitor as well!
(that's sort of nice).

I have mine set up the same way for Pagestream, but I would change it to
get rid of the annoying border. Thanks for the reply!
