Rick-I spent the day at Computer Image trying to load a Turbo rendered file into the Video Toaster with no luck.I know your not working for New Tek but I hope maybe you could offer a suggestion.I used the new version of TAD that supports Turbo Silver RGB files and was able to convert my 12 bit Silver files and save them to 24 bit IFF.But I could not get the toaster to load them.Do I need to be in the Toaster Paint program? Also-I'm still confused about the FC24.Does it have a composite output that I could record video directly from? -Brooks

Speaking of which… I tried rendering several pics in ILBM24 using Imagine. Attempting to load them into Toaster paint resulted in a reset every time. Any clues? I'd like to trade images back and forth with the Toaster at work. Later, Andrew

While I do not own Imagine, a friend does and I had him render a few images in the ILBM24 format for me to convert to display on my HAM-E board. They images were perfect, and converted over to my HAM-E format flawlessly.

Newtek has adopted a slightly different "IFF24" format than Commodore's. I suggest creating files as RGB8 and converting them in TAD. ASDG's IFF24 is the same as Newtek's. To view the files in the Toaster, load them as RGB files in Toaster Paint. –Rick

Rick, you got something a little askew. Newtek is writing Commodore standard IFF24 files with some proprietary chunks thrown in (which is completely legit). To say that Newtek is non-standard, then say ASDG is the same as Newtek is humorous since ASDG defined the standard. pk 🙂

As I understood it, the only difference between ASDG's 24 bit proposed standard and Newtek's 24 bit proposal was the order of the bitplanes… from 0 to 23 or 23 to 0, or was it the order of the bitplanes within red, green or blue?

Newtek switched with the release of DigiView 4.0 to the Commodore endorsed ASDG standard. This was some time ago. pk

"Commodore endorsed"? I didn't think the IFF registration worked that way. You mean, Commodore accepted it and added it to the list, and Newtek agreed to follow your spec. If IFF hunks were really standard, then where's all the programs that follow New Horizon's word processor format? By the way, we need to get together for lunch sometime, there are things we need to talk about.
