#Deluxe Paint III/How to?

Hi All:
I have a minor problem with the way I am using Deluxe Paint III. I'm
sure its just a matter of me not knowing how to fix the problem.
The toolbox is the vertical row of gadgets along the right hand side.
Sometimes the foreground color of these gadgets is so close to the
background color that I can hardly see the gadgets. This usually happens
after I have used Pixmate to process a B&W image grabbed with Digiview. I
will end up with either a set of black toolbox gadgets on a VERY dark grey
gadget background, or a set of VERY light grey gadgets on a white
background. Sorta hard to see.
I do not want to change the color scheme of the image (usually 16 shades
of grey), but I would like to see the gadgets. Any ideas for a fix ?
Bill, Just a quickie… When I have the same problem, I change color 1 by
sliding the value slider up a coulple of notches only while I still need to
paint on the image, then change it back before saving. Also, if you can…
in Pixmate select less colors, say 31 or 15, and go into DPaint where you
will have one register that is a duplicate (usually the last reg. I think)
of the color above it. Then, swap color 1 with the duplicate, select
remap, and color 1 should now be free to adjust without ruining your
picture. This is off the top of my head, so please try it and tell me if
it works or makes sense! -Chris
Chris, Good suggestions to Bill. Bill, You should also be able in pixmate
to make color 0 the darkest color and color 1 the lightest color. This
will ensure a contrast for the menus and toolbox in DPIII, as the Default
is usually Black for color 0 and beige or white in color 1. Chris'
suggestions are good as well and should work just fine.
