What is the best source for information on available CD ROM titles? I a
especially interested in medical CD ROMs.
To amplify your question a bit:
Is there a magazine, newsletter, or similar publication available that does
in-depth reviews of new CD-ROM releases?

To add yet another request. Is there a single source (list, Mag, file,
stone tablet etc) that list discribes and gives sources for CD-ROMS. My
interests are Medical Helth information Management, Computers. ANY Leads

WHICH LISTED "CLINICAL INFORMATICS, INC." AS A SOURCE FOR LISTINGS ON
MEDICAL CD-ROM PRODUCTS TO THE HEALTHCARE COMMUNITY.
IT HAS A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER AND HAD PUT OUT A REPORT ON CD-ROM TECHNOLOGY
IN CLINICAL MEDICINE. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY WOULD MEET YOUR NEEDS BUT THEIR

They don't have the lowest prices for the popular titles, but they have a
wonderful, big catalog. Ask for their current CD-ROM Product Guide.

Yes and I even tried to get a catalog from them a few times in the last
months. I finally got my drive from someone else. If I cant get a catalog
or other response I dont think I want to try to buy from them. I faxed
them, called their 800 number and left a message for one of their "reps"
here on compuserve but response was minimal. I think the rep said he would

Their catalog may be good, but their shipping charges are over the top and
there's a surcharge on using credit cards.

I assume you're talking about Bureau of Electronic Publishing.
I hadn't noticed their shipping charges or their credit card policy. I did
notice that, on specific disks I've seen advertised elsewhere, their prices
seem to be a good bit higher.
But the question was about a listing of CD-ROM titles. So far, BEP's is
the most extensive I've seen, and it includes fairly detailed descriptions.
There used to be a decent set of publications from DDRI, Inc of Falls
Church VA. They published "CD-Rom EndUser" and a bunch of others including
a listing of titles with blurb/review for many. My info is dated March 1990
and I failed to enter a subscription "free to qualified subscribers". It
may still be published.
