I am interested in using my Amiga 2000 to capture a video image from a VCR or video camera and storing that image in IFF format. For my needs, the device must be able to capture in REAL TIME at least one image (three or four would be nice). I have heard such devices referred to as either a real time digitizer or as a frame buffer, or maybe even other names. I do not know the differences between these types of devices and would sure appreciate guidance. I would also like it if the image could be captured and stored in color. Does anyone know what type of device I need ? My second question is what kind of devices are on the market now, or will soon be on the market to accomplish this objective. I know that PERFECT VISION by SunRize is now out for the A2000, but I believe it will only do real time for black and white. I was told that LIVE is not yet available for the A2000. One of the "projects" for this new hardware has a deadline (expected arrival in labor and delivery is May 1,1988; but then you know the stork has no calendar). I have the camcorder all set to capture the new tyke in the nursery. I would like to be able to capture an image from that VCR tape and store it in IFF format. Then I can modem the picture to the distant relatives and they can view the youngster within hours of his arrival (yes, all of my distant relatives have Amigas,modems, ARC, and USHOW). With this deadline, I want the whole system up and tested not later than March 15, 1988. Does anyone know what real time color devices are likely to be available for the A2000 before that date ?
