I believe the telephone directory is available on two CD-ROM disks, one for Eastern U.S. and the other for Western U.S. They cost about $999 each or $1900 for the pair. I suspect it's a lot cheaper to use Phone*File here on CompuServe (which I do often). – Dick

You can also go PHONEFILE here on CIS and het somewhat the same think for .25 per minute. I tried it once, and could not find the person I was looking for — it will only search by states, zipcodes. I could not find a way to do an entire U.S. Search. Also, for $995 each, retail, PHONEDISC has two CD ROMS with the entire U.S. Residential database on them. You can get them through the Bureau of Electronic Publishing which appears here from time to time. There is 1 Reply.

As a comment here. Beware of that phone disk thing. I called up the BEP BBS and checked it out, it has names at leat 2 years old and NOT taken from the phone books, but national marketing groups. I know because it as totally wrong address for me and only one mail order co had it that way 2 years ago because of a stupid error, Since fixed I think. I talked with one of the guys at Phone disk and they are coming out with more recent updates in some markedts, like California. Check it out before you buy this thing. I was not impressed. ;] Rick

Your welcome. They have a very nice guy working for phone disc selling the Nat Phone dir Dante Tocerri (spelling?) real HONEST guy, told me straight about the product and where it comes from and current status. Seemed to be quite willing to tell me if it wouldnt actually meet my need, and told me to hold off till they get the new version out. Suggest you contact him direct. I really dont think he'll stear you wrong. ;]Rick
