HEy folks: I'm working up a Public interface… to generate 8svx files! It should transform the red plane into left (or Mono), the green to right, treating image data as spectrograms and taking metrics from the screen data. If this works, I'll also do a sonogram analysis PI to turn sound into its spectrogram. (get a copy of RGS from amiga arts to see what I'm talking about:RGS2.lzh) Also: I've rewritten the PI rexx scripts a bit to have the interface code in an assigned directory "IMPI:" instead of "C:" – just a suggestion to keep your C: from filling up with old stuff. Nice if there were better docs on the PI interface modules themselves, but EH! they'll probably change by the time I read it! — jhh lowengard

What kind of docs do you need, Henry? Ben

oh, it would be nice to know what the debug screen is about in the PMBC IP, and wheter other modules have similar stuff. just a real documentation of the arguments and options, that's all. You wouldn't want me to poke around inside G compressor in optimized assembler, that would be a TERRIBLE THING! I'd never do a thing like that. No way! jhhl, honest and loyal.

Ah. That's not a debug screen… exactly. <grin> It's actually providing statistics on the compression or decompression. Very useful, and it's permanent… the only thing is it might well have more added to it. We're considering some other things to do to PMBC. No others have similar screens at this time, though they are scheduled to get them. Ben
