The nbdemo will not run on my 2000 w/5megs. "RUN NBDEMO" a new task starts, then nothing. I am under WB2. Allan Baer ( Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. )

Glad to see your message! I'm getting better at amiga stuff, and thought I did everything right to run this demo – I even download ed it twice! I have a 3000 with 2.04 and it doesn't work. I spent about an hour (at least) playing with it. I'm bummed. ms

Did you install the font correctly? It won't run unless you have a directory in your fonts drawer called "swall", a file in it called "9", and a file in fonts: called "swall.font". The demo _does_ work. Ben

Ben: The following is from the installation instructions: CD fonts: makedir swall copy ram:9 swall copy ram:nbook c: I beleive it should be: CD fonts: makedir swall copy ram:swall.font <= missing from instructions. copy ram:9 swall copy ram:nbook c: This is what may be causing confusion. – Whapp!ng from the North Coast Michael

Have you installed the font? That's the only thing it looks for. Ben

ben, (1) After creating dir small under the font dir and moving 9 into it, as well as moving small.font under the font dir. The docs do not say that. I run fixfonts. (2) The docs talk about nbook, but nbdemo is the only program download. Allan Baer ( Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. )

The dir, and the font, is NOT called "small", it's called "swall" with a "W". That's your problem. Ben

Thanks. That did it. Allan Baer ( Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. )
