#Bomac Tower?

Does anyone out there have a Bomac Tower? If so, I would greatly
appreciate some info on quality, ease of installation, etc. I also am
womdering if it comes with a power supply. Thanks in advance to anyone who
can help me.

I have a Bomac Tower, and so does a close friend of mine. Generally they
are a nice unit. It's fairly easy to install the Amiga into it, all you do
is remove the top of the Amiga, remove the floppy drive(s) then the machine
fits inside the Bomac and you screw it in using the same screw holes that
normally hold the top on. Next you place the floppy drive in the drive bay,
along with any extra drives you're adding, plug them in (you may need to
make (or have made) new cables specially if you're using the 5.25" bays),
and close up the case, and you're ready to go. The case is all metal, no
cheap plastic here, and it's strong too, several times when hooking up
cables to the machine (I have LOTS of cables coming from my Amiga) I've had
to put ALL my weight (245#) on the Bomac, and it took it without a single
complaint. The way it comes, it doesn't have a power supply, you use the
standard Amiga power supply, however if you add lots of drives, you can add
an additional power supply, and that's one that is commonly called a 'baby
AT' power supply. I have one in my machine to power only my harddrives, and
I find that my machine runs much cooler partially because there's less
stress on the original power supply, and partialy due to the extra fan
that's in the AT power supply.
It's funny, sitting here at my computer, Mine is an Amiga in disguise, as I
have a Tatung monitor, a NorthGate keyboard, and the Bomac tower doesn't
say Amiga on it anywhere (I have the little sticker GVP supplies with their
accelerators on it), so that at a glance there's no way to tell what kind
of machine it is!

Well, as far as NewTek is concerned, my feelings are that who gives a rats
behind if NewTek labels the Amiga with their name or not, the pure fact is
that if NewTek is real successfull with their 'Toaster Machine' it will
help the Amiga community at large. The more Amiga's sold (in any way) the
better!

Thanks for your details on the Bomac, I was considering it as the next step
in my Amiga's evolution, and you're info helps a lot.
As far as labels on my computer go, the only way you can tell I have an
Amiga is if you can pick out the label from among the dozen or so other
things that I've stuck on it (kinda like the one on the cover of January's
AmigaWorld-only without any sort of theme to the decals).

omac Tower?
Thanks for the info. I don't currently have a 2000 but was going to buy
one. I have a 500 and am looking into the HiQ tower that Inovatronics is
coming out with. They claim it turns your 500 into a 2000 with full 2000
expandability including accelarators and the Toaster. I'm waiting for info
before I buy a 2000.
