#R11 for SGI
4 messages in this thread
I am very interested in the upcoming AutoCAD R11 version for the SGI
Indigo. Any information available on its status? How will upgrades from
DOS based systems be handled? I'll be ready to buy when its available.
Thanks, TOM
You are in the wrong forum! Last summer, the old ADESK Forum split into three:
ACAD, which deals with AutoCAD stuff, ASOFT (this forum), which deals with
Autodesk's multimedia (e.g., 3D Studio and Animator Pro) and scientific
(e.g. CA Labs and Chaos) software, and SKETCH, which is the forum for Auto-
desk's retail products (e.g., Generic CAD and Autosketch).
You should repost your message in the AutoCAD forum — just GO ACAD from a
forum ! prompt.

Well, wrong forum but right question.
AutoCAD R11 for the Silicon Graphics IRIS was announced and demoed last
July at the IRIS Indigo introduction. The product has also been demoed at
the Daratech dealers conference, AutoFACT, and in various countries and
customer sites this fall. At each showing, people are thrilled by the
quality and performance of the implementation. In addition to the standard
AutoCAD R11 product, SGI will ship to SGI ATuoCAD users a high performance
graphics driver that has real-tim e zooms & pans and a 3D viewer plus some
other goodies which we are pretty excited about.
Schedule: Autodesk's Press Release stated that the product would ship in
the "first of 1992".
For more information, find the right forum and/or call the product manager
(victoria trowbridge 415 289-2126) or the Unix group manager (Joyce
Williams (2127).

John – I have a question for you about Irisvision but lets do it on the ACAD
Forum, ok? I'll be waiting in Section 5 <g>.
