I've just added a Weitek 4167 chip to my Northgate 486/33. After reconfiguring 3DS to use the Weitek chip instead of the Intel, I find myself unable to get into 3DS at all. I get an "Error: 3DS.SET error in line: Z-CLIP =1.0 Anybody know what gives?

Here's an update… The previously mentioned error message has been replaced with "Error: 3DS.SET error in line: WELD-THRESHOLD=0.0001. Help!

dave , i run 3ds on a 386/33 with a weitek and no problems. but first i had to run a program called 67setup to get the system to reconize the chip. i also had to flip a switch on the mother board to tell the computer that there was no math-co processor installed because the weitek is a different kind of co-processor. i did not have to modify the 3ds.set file at all. sherwood

Dave, First, make sure that Weitek is well-seated (there should be a diagnostic with the chip). Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates
