Printer Problems

Hi everyone, I have a small problem I'd appreciate some assitance with. I
recently purchased a Panasonic KX-P1091 printer (Used). I have hooked the
printer up, and installed the driver the person who sold it to me said he
used. (In this case, EpsonX.) However I can't seem to get this printer to
be acknowledged by my WP program. (Textcraft) I figure I likely need to use
a different driver, such as the one for this specific printer here in the
library. However I am curious as to how to get that driver installed in my
WB disk, since the only way I can figure is to make a copy of Extras and
delete unwanted files, then copy the new driver to that disk. Seems a lot
of trouble for this minor need. Can anyone possibly tell me if there is an
easier way about this? BTW, My system is Amiga 500, 1 meg ram, 1 external
drive. Pretty basic, just can't get the printer going so far. :> Thanks for

If you have the room on your WorkBench disk put the new driver in the
devs/printers sub directory.

Randy:
copy the new driver into your Devs/Printers directory… let's say that the
driver is in ram: here's what you would do from the cli or shell:
.copy ram:[drivername] devs/printers
Be sure that the new driver name is unique (that a file of the same name
doesn't already exist in the devs/printers drawer).
Then, open preferences, choose printer, then select the new driver and save
your changes.
Check your printer manual for any dip switch settings that you may need to
make for a particular emulation (like epsonFX for the EpsonX driver).

Michael, thanks for the tips. Now the problem seems to be in actuality that
when the printer is plugged in, the second drive is not ackmnowledged.
