#Digiview

I just stumbled across an old message of yours, from January in fact.
Do you still have the Digiview adapter for the A1000 module? I have just
upgraded from an A1000 to an A3000 and Newtek has been absolutely no help
to me. Their only option is for me to buy a whole new package so that I
can get the module.
Alternately, do you still have the Digiview Gold?
Thanx – Chris
Chris;
I bought an older digiview once, and Newtek upgraded my software for very
cheap, I beleive 5 bucks, and then upgraded my module from an a1000 model
for free. Wonder what happened to change this policy? Wish I could remember
the name of the lady I talked to.
Karl
I don't know what changed the policy, but I think it might be too
much success. They were very unhelpful, and I got the definite
impression that they didn't feel that Digiview was worth supporting.
Maybe you don't count unless you get a toaster? 🙁
Well, Chris…. I am about to find out what is up at Newtek…. I
just bought an A2000 with Digiview, and it is an older module, so I
will call and see if they want to exchange it. As I already have a
new module, I don't really need this one exchanged, but will at least
find out what is up.
Please let me know what you find out. I have given up on their customer
support phone lines and they don't seem to be reading their messages in
AmigaVendor.
What do you mean when you say you got an A2000 with an older module? Is it
the A1000 module? I was only aware of one module (the black one) for the
A500/A2000.
Chris
Yes, it is an A1000 Module, I believe… Has a gender changer.. One end of
the gender changer says Amiga other end says Digiview….
Karl
Are you interested in parting with the adapter? Chris
Yes, I might be able to be talked int selling the adaptor!
What is the thing worth?
Karl
I don't really now. I think that when they were available, they only sold
for about $15. Make me a suggestion 😉 Chris
Don't worry, you don't count even if you DO have a Toaster. It's not a
product problem, it's a NewTek problem.

Haven't heard from you in a while. Are you still mailing out
newsletters? What's the current version of BoardMaster? Did the
schematic capture ever get written? Oops – Sorry to hit you with all
of these questions.
Board Master is v1r19; We're not mailing any newsletters until v10,
and that may be a postcard or a newsletter, not decided yet; The
schematic capture product was cancelled due to lack of interest.
Thanx for the info. I'll be watching the mail <g> Chris
Chris, sorry I'm just getting back to you, but I just read your
message. The adapter and the Digiview Gold I had sold promptly, so I
no longer have them. I had the same problem you have when I bought
an A2000 as soon as they came out. I called NewTek, they flatly said
there would be NO kind of "upgrade" offer, I would have to either use
an adapter or buy a whole new unit. It's a long story, but I wasn't
pleased with the adapter, so I ended up buying a new DigiView for my
A2000. I did not like NewTek's attitude or (lack of) helpfulness at
all, and still don't. -Joel
Well, now they don't even admit to the adapter as an option.
Did you have performance problems with the adapter?
Chris
