#Real3D 2.0
2 messages in this thread
Those of you eagerly awaiting Imagine 3.0 might want to take a look at a
text file I uploaded. It's a description of Real3D 2.0 and it sounds like
it's going to be WAY better than Imagine. The file is an Internet posting
and I'm not sure how accurate the information is, but if the final program
has even 60% of what's listed I'll be switching my rendering software.
Interesting features are: Procedural animations with collision detection.
Boolean functions.
Parametric surfaces.
RenderMan output
Much more. (read the file)
The text file can be found in AmigaArts/3D and it's called Read3D.LZ.
It's about 6k.
Jeff, I am eagerly awaiting the update to Real3D myself. It is supposed to
be out this month but who knows. I have also heard of a "street price" of
$590, which I hope is wrong. It was a quote from someone at the SIGGRAPH
show in September, but it was posted on the Real3D support BBS (which,
strangely, has become very silent lately). I use Real3D V1.4.2 regularly
and find it a breeze to work with.
