Got a question for all of you in the know: Is there a "Star Trek" and/or a "Star Trek The Next Generation" style font anywhere? If so, can it be used with PageStream? Ready to label six season worth of tapes, <Dave>

Computer Safari in Woodland CA sells a Star Trek font package for PageStream, Mac and PC in Type 1 and PageStream formats. Another company also is selling officially licensed Star Trek fonts. They had an ad in one of the new Mac or PC mags. I think you can buy them at Egghead or one of those types of stores. Michael (Oh yeah, there is also a PD font called Crillee. It's used by ST TNG I think. We used it for the HotLinks logo.)

Do you have the number for the store so I can order it? I'm *very* anxious to get them, and there are NO Trek fonts in the Libraries here that are PageStream compatable. (are you _sure_ that this font package will work on MY Amiga's PageStream(version2.2)? <Dave>

The Computer Safari Star Trek font package will definitely work with your PageStream. Jay Pierstorff (the owner) uses PageStream a lot and designs his fonts expressly for PageStream. Their number is… let me find it in an old DTP World ad… Oh, here's an ad for those fonts. You get Trek Italic, Classic Trek, Movie Star, Next Trek Titles and Next Generation for $29.95. 1-916-666-1813. He also sells another pack with a Klingon and Alien font in it I think. Thanks a bunch! I'll give them a call tomorrow and place my order! (The trick now is how to make the wife understand *why* folks like me want to spend $30 for Fonts) Wish me luck. Have a good holiday, <Dave>

Bitmapped fonts are in Library 11, and postscript fonts in Library 6. I know that there are Star Trek fonts there. Just browse the library, using STARTREK or STAR or TREK as a keyword. —Betty

David, the title font in ST:TNG is called Crillee. I have seen PD versions of it, but haven't been impressed with their quality. (Drop by a Letraset dealer to peek at their catalog and you'll see what Crillee should _really_ look like!) Blaq!
