#CD Rom Help!

I wonder if I could impose on y'all for a little help. I need to really become an expert in CD ROM technology in the next few months, re: a proposal my firm is putting together to transfer film onto CD, and then manipulate the digitized image instead of the film. I am very friendly with one of the regional directors of Phillips in Eiendhoven, but I'm not sure whether CD-I is indicated here, as opposed to just straight storage. Could anyone who wants to be so kind as to suggest a good bibliography of files and/or publications to plow into. Much appreciated!!! With all due thanks, Matthew

Matthew, No one ever imposes on anyone in this forum. They just get a ton of answers. <grin> Download the file called CDFAQ.TXT and CDROMF.ZIP good general information on CD-ROM/optical technology. The first is by Rich Bowers Co-sysop of this forum!!! Also you can download a file called BIBLIO.TXT which lists all print and paper publications dealing with CD-ROM. Also there is a file that gives you sources of where to find trends on CD-ROM technoloy.

There is a very useful Buyer's Guide on the ZiffNet. It contains a great deal of technical information, help for CD-ROM buyers, and reviews of many CD-ROM players. Of course, you do have to join ZiffNet (cheap) and pay for the Guide (about $15, I think). Bill

OK, I'll bite. What do you consider cheap? To me, if I get useful information that helps me solve business problems, and the cost of the information is less than the cost of the problem, the information cost is cheap. I never said ZIFFNET was free. Bill
