I'm jumping into the middle of this thread, so I don't know what your
original question was, but my copy of Street Atlas supports NO PRINTERS
directly. What it DOES support is copying the screen image to the
clipboard. To print a map you have to (1) copy it to the clipboard, (2)
start another program (like paint) and paste the image into a picture, and
(3) print the picture. This is cumbersome and your printout will be at the
resolution of your SCREEN not your PRINTER. I found the printouts to be
unacceptable at with an 800×600 screen. Higher resolutions may be better.
From what I understand, MapExpert offers "real" windows printing. I talked
to someone at Delorme who said they deliberately omitted "real" printing
from Street Atlas because it was too much functionality for (what was then)
$99.

I think Delorme is overly proud of their package for the price and
functionality. Being able to print directly might ease some of my ill
feeling that they don't have airports on the maps. Such as the Burbank CA
and Ontario airports. The info seems spotty. There are also some strange
intersections for my nearby street when you do a closeup look. It is a
usable package but any serious competition would wipe out their sales.

I just looked up the Ontario CA airport, and there it is, runway layout and
all. I would like it if it were easier to print, however. I have been
clipping to CorelDraw – but he B&W results leave much to be desired.
Any serious competition would wipe out their sales? I got a great idea why
don't you try and be that serious competition? Does it not strike you as
interesting that there is no serious competition? Could it be that the
mammoth proportions make serious competition something that is not to be
concerned with? WOuld you rather there was no product of this type out? I
will send you the "official" map of Chicago that has over 1200 "glaring"
innaccuracies on it and this is the official map.
