#VGA monitors!

Does anyone out there know if it is possible to connect a VGA monitor
to an A4000 using the supplied adaptor? I've tried it and had no
success using the DBLxxx drivers, I just get a shimmering mess! If it
doesn't work, what is the supplied 15-23 way monitor adaptor for?!?!
Commodore themselves have been no help – which I personally find very
irritating after spending 1000 pounds+ with them! Anyway, I'd be very
grateful for any help…
Have you tried putting the VGAonly AND your DBLxxx driver in the
devs/monitors drawer?

Adding the VGA only driver works for most monitors. My VGA that I use
with FFVII will not. There is a program called MONED.lha online.
This will modify your double.xxx drivers and allow it to sync. Try
not to make to many, or to abrupt changes! I bumped my driver from
the standard 29.09 (with vga-only) to about 30.8 It syncs perfectly
now. Warning: not all programs mode promote! Your best bet is to
get a multi-sync monitor. (I'm still saving up) I'm still using my
crusty 1084 on my nice new A4000 and my A2000 with a 68000 has a nice
non-interlaced picture in every mode thanks to ICD's Flicker Free
Video II.
Do you have the VGAOnly installed?

With VGA-Only enabled (in the Devs:Monitors drawer), try using one of
the Productivity modes. They will scan at 31.4kHz; the Dbl modes are at
29.4kHz, which some VGA (31.5kHz) monitors will not accept.
