I would like to give a Compuserve subscription to a relative as a Christmas gift (an avid Amiga user!). I understand there is nothing similar to CIM for the Amiga. What is the best way to get him started? Paul Broadus

Paul, Can you tell us what model Amiga he has, how much memory and which version of the operating sysytem he is running (1.3, 2.x, 3.x?)? If he is running AmigaDos 2.04 or higher, has a hard drive and at least 1 meg 'chip ram' and 2 meg 'fast ram', his best bet is to use AutoPilot. There is a demo version in library 9 of AmigaVendor Forum (GO AMIGAV AP.LHA & APDOCS.LHA).

Paul, I would recommend that you get AutoPilot. The demo version is in Library 9 of AmigaVendor – AP.LHA – and after the demo is up and running well, it can be registered online, which will make it even more powerful and will let the user access all of the regular forums. The demo only permits the use of the four Amiga forums. AutoPilot is more like OZCIS than it is like CIM, but it is very fast and easy to use once it is set up. Even the setup is not hard at all if directions are followed. —Betty
