#DXF -> RenderStar .VOL?
5 messages in this thread
I've been using L-parser, and I want to make my own base objects. Does anybody
have a .3ds or .dxf to .vol converter?
Thanks.
Bailey
Bailey,
I realize this is a little round about… but since the output from LPARSER is
a .vol file, could you use LPARSER to create the simplified base objects?
Eli.
Eli,
I don't think that would work for me. What I want is a sphere with few faces,
and any spherical L-parser object would have to have at least one of the
spherical base objects in it, which have too many faces.

I am very familiar with what you are talking about, regardding the
RenderSTar vol stuff and lparser. I have a utility that can turn a
RenderStar .vol into a dxf file. it will take the .vol and give you
a "by-color" indexed autodesk compat. DXF. drop me a line if you are
interested.
addendum to my last note Bailey.
in order to turn a .dxf into a RenderStar .VOL, you have to have the
RenderStar convertor. This program is partof the licensed RenderStar
software package.
Perhaps if you have some you waant to have done that way, let me know.
I can help.
