What is the easiest way to get a Truetype font into the Shaper? From what I can see Rel3 doesn't load TTFs. Does anyone recommend a utility to convert TTF->PFB?

I don't personally know of any, but there's probably something that does that out there. I'm sure that if there is, someone here on the forum will know about it.

We use Font Monger at out office. It supports almost all the popular formats. Where? Find a copy of Computer Shopper, all the Mail order houses should have it.

Chuck, >> Font Monger That will convert TrueType fonts into 3DS Type 1? If so … I wouldn't think anyone would be interested in a CD-ROM with 2,000 TrueType fonts that we now carry … list $395? Ang

Yeah, Font Monger and Fontographer (a better program) will convert fonts to and from any standard format. DT

>>getting TrueType fonts into the shaper… Phil, Perhaps not the easiest, but… I use CorelDRAW for this: Place the desired text in CorelDRAW Edit as desired Select the text File/Export "Selected Only" as AI 1.1, "Export text as curves" Load or merge into shaper Although this method does not convert the entire font to be used directly by 3DS, it has a few WYSIWYG advantages (assuming you have CorelDRAW <g>): You can select the font visually from the Corel character dialog box BEFORE you place it, instead of having to place it in the Shaper just to see it. After entering your text in Corel, you can easily change the font or style of all or even one character. You can easily adjust word and character spacing while still in Corel. (Big +) This is a royal pain in 3DS. You can convert the text to curves before exporting and edit individual characters using all the Corel editing features. Corel comes with many hundreds of fonts in both TrueType and Type1 (you can load the latter directly into 3DS right off the CD-ROM). When modeling, I often run 3DS from Windows so I can quickly switch back & forth between 3DS and Corel, AutoCAD/Win and other Windows programs.
