#Ipas – routines

I will like buy the Ipas – routines you have. But first i'll like to
hear what the costs and which one there are. My advice to a new ipas
– routines is a routines that can make FIRE
We're working on a particle system fire routine now. (Along with
particle system smoke.) We're shooting for an early-spring release.

Great! Make it so it will do clouds too. But I really could use exhaust smoke.
The smoke particle system actually works quite well for clouds (as
long as you don't want big puffy cumulous ones). It's very flexible.
Good! It will be interesting to see how it differs from the other
smoke IPAS when set to display cumulous type clouds.
Here's one for you: I often set the heads and tails for 10 second
still of the first and last frame. However, when rendering to fields
they usually have jitter. Therefore I always have to go back and
re-render to frames for the first and last, just for aesthetics for
the video editor when laying to tape. Would it be possible to query
" hold frame render for first and last frame? Yes or No" when
selecting field rendering? Maybe I should add this to the wish list
for r4?
Sounds like an R4 wishlist item to me.

Yes. I have it on my wishlist.txt file I'm building for 3-31-94.
Don, I'm only accepting wishlists on 4/1. <g>

Noted!
Can i get Pipe smoke???????
Yup. No problem. We'll be shipping with a bunch of example 3ds files, and
pipe, cigarette, exhaust, and match smoke are all going to be included. Works
GREAT.

Can't WAIT for this smoke stuff, Gary! …And all the rest of the great things
IPAS3 will make possible. Makes ya all goose-pimply just thinking about
it<g>…..

You're amazing! I remember my "Smoke in a bottle" thread last spring. I see
you didn't forget the wish. Looking forward to it. Thanks!
It's been a very difficult algorithm to master. We're now working on
interactive ways of previewing some of the more arcane parameters inside the
IPAS dialog using R3 features. Things like "Whorl Drift", and "Turbulence
Frequency" really ought to be graphically represented. Of course, trying to do
this stuff during the holiday season is almost as difficult as dealing with
whorl drift factors.
