Does anybody remember anything about utilities which would allow the Amiga to
read Macintosh 800k floppy disks?
I thought that early in the Amiga career, there was some software available
which could read 800k disks.

It was a software/hardware combination called Mac-to-Dos. You want one?
I've got one around here somewhere that I never used.

I have to be careful here because this Amiga is just my "messing around"
computer. I'm teetering on the edge with hardware in this room already so I
guess I'd better not do anything that requires another piece of "stuff."

How does it connect the mac drive to the Amiga. I currently have an 800k drive
connected via AMAX and would be interested in the software for a good price. I
get tired of starting up AMAX to transfer files.

O.K., let's see. . . You plug a little hardware converter into the
external Floppy port, and plug a Mac floppy drive into it. I have *No*
idea if the thing works, the software seems to be version 1.1d from Feb.
1990. I got AMaxII+ shortly after I bought the thing and never got a Mac
drive. Central Coast made the thing, and mine was after New Horizons
bought them out, so it may still be supported. It seems to do some file
conversions also.

I would be interested in it since I do have a Mac 800k drive that I use with
AMAX. What do you need for it?

Donald, I use Mac-to-Dos. It requires a Mac floppy disk drive, though.
