Jonas, Thank you for both your response and honesty about the field-order bug in rel. 3. Unfortunately for me, after having spent some 50+ hours attempting to get network rendering to work, I have finally abandoned the hope of setting up a working network. Others seemed to have solved the riddles but we are unable to get ours to work. Most unfortunate that I seem to be riding on the cutting edge of this double-edged sword. Since I do a great deal of batch rendering via modem from my home, it would seem that until there is a fix for this, I will have to resort to rel. 2.01 (I never received 2.01A. I trust you will put this in the queue for fixing future releases. Thanks, Michael

>> have finally abandoned the hope of setting up a working network. If you don't have a working network, you should be able to network render on one machine. Put each rendering task into the net queue for <any> machine, then enter slave mode when you leave for the night.

Michael, Email me your fax number. We've put together an internal paper on network rendering that I would like to fax you. Jonas[adesk]

(714) 833-8655 In fact, things like this would be GREAT info for all if saved as an ASCII file and uploaded to the forum libraries! Greg Pyros [Pyros Partnership, Inc] 15-Dec-93 at 8:38a PST

The network paper WILL be posted to the forums as soon as it goes through its final edit cycle. Should be up here by Friday. What we sent out was a pre-edited version. -Brian
